Growing healthy Veggies for our school
Gönderen BENJAMIN PRIMARY SCHOOL, South Africa şu tarihte 14 Aralık 2018
Gönderinin içeriği: Grow it yourself!,

Our students were helped by teachers and a few elders in our community to build key-hole gardens with mulching. The vegetables that the learners grew are butternuts, spinach, onions, sweet potatoes, cabbage and tomatoes. The students are taught to use 2 litre bottles to water the vegetables. This is a way to save water in our community. These vegetables are used to supplement the learners diet at school and some are tied in bundles and sold to people in the village. The learners enjoy working and learning from the elders in the community about gardening and growing your own food. This activity teaches them a lot about using resources around you and the importance of saving water. We mulched our veggie beds to save water.
